Work on building your gratitude practice every day. There are two aspects of gratitude: feeling grateful and expressing gratitude. If this is new for you, practice noticing things and giving yourself time and permission to feel appreciative. An example may be noticing a beautiful tree or yard on the way to work or the feeling of a heated space when you come in out of the cold. Feel that gratitude – notice it and hang onto the feeling for a few seconds. Expressing gratitude can be as simple as noticing the cashier when you buy your coffee and authentically thanking them for their help or thanking a person for holding a door for you.
